Virtual Converter for React Central includes third-party open-source software. This notice summarizes the distribution-sensitive components used by the desktop app. It is not a replacement for the complete license files shipped with each dependency.
Product and upstream license boundary
Virtual Converter for React Central is a proprietary VirtuEDIT product. Original code and modifications owned by VirtuEDIT Inc. are not offered under the MIT License. Third-party and inherited materials remain subject to their applicable licenses; those licenses prevail for those materials. This notice does not revoke previously granted rights or claim ownership of upstream code.
The product incorporates code from OmniClip by Przemysław Gałęzki. Its complete original MIT notice is preserved unchanged in docs/legal/licenses/OmniClip-MIT.txt in the application package and reproduced below. Third-party component licenses continue to apply to their respective components.
FFmpeg / FFprobe
Virtual Converter for React Central uses FFmpeg/FFprobe tooling for local media analysis and export.
Public desktop packages should use the verified LGPL-compatible vendor binaries under vendor/ffmpeg. Development installs may also contain fallback npm packages:
ffmpeg-static@5.3.0
- Package license: GPL-3.0-or-later - Bundled binary license file: node_modules/ffmpeg-static/ffmpeg.LICENSE
ffprobe-static@3.1.0
- Package license: MIT
@ffmpeg/core@0.12.5
- npm wrapper metadata says MIT; this does not establish the license of a compiled FFmpeg/WASM binary or linked codecs. Audit the actual shipped artifact.
@ffmpeg/ffmpeg
- Package license: MIT
@ffmpeg/util
- Package license: MIT
Before public distribution, run npm run qa:release:lgpl and confirm GPL fallback binaries are not included in packaged app resources.
Source Removal Audio Landmark Helper
The Source Removal workflow can use an audfprint-based audio landmark helper to find original source audio inside an existing merged reaction video.
audfprint
- License: MIT - Copyright: Dan Ellis, Columbia University, and Google - Product packaging path: vendor/audfprint/<target>/audfprint
- Python runtime and site-packages for the helper may include:
- CPython runtime — Python Software Foundation License as shipped in the applicable vendor/python/<target> runtime license files - NumPy — BSD/permissive license family as declared by the installed wheel metadata - SciPy — BSD-style SciPy license as declared by the installed wheel metadata - docopt — MIT - joblib — BSD-3-Clause - psutil — BSD-3-Clause
Before public distribution, confirm the packaged helper includes the dependency license files for the exact target/runtime build and run npm run qa:audfprint:release. Public desktop packages must include a target-specific Python runtime or an equivalent self-contained helper so users do not need to install Python separately. Packaged helper contents should exclude development/test artifacts such as __pycache__, .pyc, test/, and tests/.
Link Import Helper
The Converter can bundle an optional Link Import helper for importing a user-provided media link into a local source file.
yt-dlp
- Primary project license: Unlicense - Current product packaging path: vendor/link-import/<target>/yt-dlp or vendor/link-import/<target>/yt-dlp.exe - Bundled license files: vendor/link-import/<target>/LICENSE and vendor/link-import/<target>/THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.txt
The current macOS vendored helper is the self-contained yt-dlp_macos release binary. The yt-dlp project documents that PyInstaller-bundled executables can include GPLv3+ components, and the vendored THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.txt includes GPL-family entries. Before public distribution, run npm run qa:link-import:release, confirm the exact target binary license obligations, and verify that the app's distribution terms and Store/direct-download package remain compatible with those obligations.
Major Runtime Libraries
The app also bundles local browser/runtime libraries so the packaged desktop app does not depend on CDN scripts at startup:
- Electron
- Lit
- PixiJS
- Pixi filters and Pixi essentials packages
- Shoelace
- MediaInfo.js
- es-module-shims
- wavesurfer.js
- mp4box
- zip.js
See each dependency's package license in node_modules and the generated packaged app resources.
Fonts
The app bundles the following font (self-hosted, no CDN). It is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits use and embedding in commercial software; the full license travels with the font file.
- Pretendard — © 2021 Kil Hyung-jin (https://github.com/orioncactus/pretendard), Reserved Font Name "Pretendard". SIL Open Font License 1.1.
- Bundled license file: assets/fonts/Pretendard/OFL.txt
Distribution Checklist
Before public release:
- Confirm this notice matches the final dependency tree.
- Include final privacy/support/terms URLs in app store metadata.
- Keep FFmpeg compliance reviewed. Public desktop releases should pass
npm run qa:release:lgpl. - Keep Link Import helper compliance reviewed. Public Converter releases should pass
npm run qa:link-import:releaseand include the vendored helper license files. - Do not remove dependency license files from packaged app resources.
Release-specific evidence (required before public distribution)
Retain the product LICENSE, the complete unchanged upstream MIT notice at docs/legal/licenses/OmniClip-MIT.txt, and all included component notices. Package metadata is not a complete software bill of materials. The target package must be checked for compiled libraries, native helpers, WASM, icons and fonts as well as JavaScript packages.
The exact source corresponding to redistributed GPL/LGPL binaries, build recipes, patches, dependency versions and license texts must be made available by an appropriate compliant method. An upstream homepage or moving latest URL alone is not release-specific source evidence. Maintain immutable source archives and checksums alongside the release. Do not claim the app is approved for distribution merely because FFmpeg's configure flags passed the local verifier.

The PyInstaller-packaged yt-dlp executable may carry GPLv3+ obligations even though the yt-dlp source project is Unlicense. Review the exact executable and its aggregated third-party notices. Separate-process invocation does not by itself eliminate all distribution obligations or resolve Store-term compatibility. Codec patent and source-platform permissions are separate from open-source copyright licenses.
